In my book sidney bechet is like all the great jazz artists, he's in a class all his own.

it beats me why the heck this aint played on the radio, just a joy to listen to.

A great example what great musicians can do with a great melody. Oh those minor chords make the hair on my neck stand up..............this is SWING in its purest form. If you can listen without tappin' the soles off your shoes than lay down........you dead!!! And If there is a recording somewhere out there that makes you feel better than this than the Good Lord is savin' it for Himself....................mercy!!!!!!!!!

Walking the streets of Paris while listening to this music is what I describe as the closest thing to perfection.

In order to create brilliant arrangements like this Bechet had to be just as great a composer as he was a musician. And then to be able to improvise as well, that's genius.

Bechet: my new addiction - especially this number. Surely he was one of the greatest of his era - and yet not nearly enough of his recordings are available nor widely known - what a treat to hear this recording and thanks for posting it

Please, please,can we stop this Louis vs Sidney ,as Ellington once said,"we never compare artists" Louis set a course for all trumpet men in partnership with people like Bunk Johnson, Mutt Carey,Joe Olivef,and others. Sidney simply followed his own way influencing a few along the way but mostly just being the one and only Sidney Bechet,

This is the best piece of Bechet I've heard. Every note is bang on target.  And it really swings !

To listen to this is akin to finding an oasis in a dry desert and drinking in the water of life, getting as close to paradise here on Earth as is possible. I never grow weary as long as Sidney Bechet is around!

Don't give me that modern garbage about Kenny G. Sidney Bechet is the real deal, the only jazz original. Swing it!

I just love Sidney Bechet. I can play a clarinete myself, and when I was a kid my parents gave me a record with Sidney. That helped me a lot. God bless his soul !!!

Where's the secret? A hundred years and four thousand miles away from me, this song touch my heart every time I hear it.
