I had my Roy Rogers twin six-shooters. The only pair of jeans I had, were turned up with the 3 inch cuffs, just like the Sons of the Pioneers. I even got spurs one Christmas. And there was this song, with its great harmony and strong voices. That, and Jackie Roosevelt Robinson, pretty much summed up my youth. It was a good time to be a kid. And then, along came 1962-63, and the world was turned upside down. Hasn't righted itself yet.
