The ones that put the thumbs down on this, obviously have been raised hearing corporate music garbage. At least the songs from this time period made sense, when record companies signed musicians with actual talent, unlike listening to disrespectful brats like Justin Bieber.
The hardest line for me to hear is, "Oh, Jimmy, sits in alone in the moonlight. Saw his woman kiss another man. He takes a ladder and steals the stars from the sky. Puts on Sinatra and starts to cry." Gets me everytime.
For those wondering, the musicians are lead and backing vocalist-acoustic guitarist Stephen Bishop, electric guitarist Andrew Gold, steel guitarist Michael Staton, bassist Mac Cridlin, drummer Larry Brown, percussionist-vibraphonist-marimbist Victor Feldman, and electric pianist Barlow Jarvis.
you see, singers in our time caressed each word of a song whereas singers of today whine, moan, mumble and practically foam at the mouth...they do everything except sing...and don't get me started on that damn' auto tune
...if there's any real music talent out there right now, then they must not be getting the proper exposure because I'm just not seeing, hearing or feeling it...
