I'm 35,born 79. Grew up in 80s and 90s , when I think about it I feel sorry for the youth of today not experiencing those awesome decades, the movies ,music,tv! It was magical. The shit that you hear on the radio now is absolute sexed up dribble, also kids went out to play and socialize after school, play football climb trees ,light fires and stuff, now kids socialize on fuckin Facebook, it's a tragedy!!
I'm building a time machine to go back to the 90's! Anybody wanna' come along? Long hot summer of '96, beer in one hand, Marlboro in the other with this playing on the radio; chilling out in the back garden! A time when cigarette pack warnings weren't the entire pack, binge drinking was the thing to do! A time when the greatest music artists were in the charts! A time when you could go out on the piss without fear of your drunken escapades winding up on Facebook, just you're mates winding you up about them the next day! The internet was in cafes and not every film at the cinema was a Superhero CGI fest!! The world was still fucked up back then, although its more extreme and severe now! Give me the 90's back anyday! (Except for Spice girls, shell suits, Noel's house party etc etc!)
This was when the UK produced some of the best music in the world. This is the era of "Britpop" - a lot of great bands producing some superb songs that filled the charts throughout the 1990s.
What music does the UK produce today? Adele / Sam Smith / Bastille / Plan B…… What went wrong?
this kills me it was the soundtrack to my teens, now i'm 36 and I cant believe it's all gone so fast. For all I love this song it reminds me of what iv'e lost and what has gone. It's shit getting old. :(
anyone else get a sad feeling in the pit of there stomach when listening to this? takes me way back to the break up with my first serious girlfriend. 19 when this came out.
Maybe maybe it's the clothes we wear
The tasteless bracelets and the dye in our hair
Maybe it's our kookiness
Or maybe maybe it's our nowhere towns
Our nothing places and our cellophane sounds
Maybe it's our looseness
But we're trash you and me
We're the litter on the breeze
We're the lovers on the streets
Just trash me and you
It's in everything we do
It's in everything we do
Maybe maybe it's the things we say,
The words we've heard and the music we play,
Maybe it's our cheapness,
Or maybe, maybe it's the times we've had,
The lazy days and the crazes and the fads,
Maybe it's our sweetness,
But we're trash, you and me,
We're the litter on the breeze,
We're the lovers on the street,
Just trash, me and you,
It's in everything we do,
It's in everything we do
