Buy the album and listen to it on a GOOD stereo. It might be the best produced album that I have ever heard.

I was so high on acid once I thought the lyrics were about aliens. When she said "If I touch you, I'll get what you've got" I thought she meant time travelers shouldn't contact people in the time they're traveling in. Wow

I've been watching the vids from 99.9F and mostly I think they distract from the sumptuous sonic architecture of the arrangements. Just close your eyes and listen. The images peeled from the inside of your skull will always be better than those on the screen.

Her songs were so ahead of their time back then. I mean, I enjoyed them at the time. I was only 13 when this came out, but I remember digging it a lot. But when I listen now, I feel like this could've been written today. It's impressive and cool, stylistically and lyrically. Doesn't sound dated. Suzanne, you rock!

Such a shame that the American public did not get this album! It was perfect for the way music was going at that time...this lady paved the way for artists like Tori Amos, Alanis Morissette, Jewel and Lisa Loeb!!! I say more than a thumbs up on this track and album...try a massive 10 stars for a great effort!

Was in heavy rotation (the whole album) Summer of 1992. Got to see her live in a 1,500-seat auditorium. She killed. Her band as well.

Suzanne Vega is the classiest US singer. The English Dido is a parallel to her in all senses

So great to rediscover this voice and find it sounds just as unique and wonderful after all these years.

99.9 Fahrenheit degrees Stable now, with rising possibilities It could be normal but it isn't quite Could make you want to stay awake at night You seem to me Like a man 0n the verge of burning 99.9 Fahrenheit degrees Pale as a candle And your face is hot And if I touch you I might get what you've got Something cool Against the skin Is what you could be Something cool Against the skin Is what you Could be needing

This has got to be the most mellow and soft-spoken erotic song I've ever heard. R.G.

Even when singing about a fever to an industrial backing track, Suzanne Vega is the epitome of cool. She makes the modern pop tarts look like a buncha nerds.
