I worked at the Roostertail Supper Club in Detroit in 1963 when the Mills Brothers played there. I really thought a lot of Harry. He was old enough to have been my father. but so peaceful and wise. It is a fond memory. My mother used to sing these songs to me in the 50's when she washed dishes.
Remember the Mills Brothers when I was a kid in the 50s. Remember a number of years later in an interview when they said they always tried to price their act so that many could afford them. Well, so many could listen to them on TV and live for many years. One of the very best and humblest singing groups of all times. How many out there then and now could sing this great? Do I wish they were still with us today.

My dad ALWAYS had The Mills Brothers on the record player. I doubt I went a day in my life prior to moving out that I didn't hear at least one track from them.
There must be something wrong with today's society when people cannot get a tremendous amount of pleasure from just listening to the performances of groups like the Mills Brothers, and get the feeling that life truly has something to offer for everyone.

There has always been people that can sing, groups that can harmonize, but these guys had soul, love, sincerity, just pouring out of their pores when they performed. It is infectious. What ever the ingredients go into this phenomenon, can't be duplicated. I don't care, they fulfill my need in my life, musically. Easy to point out the color of their skin and compare to nowadays, but never has it mattered so little. They are talented, Americans, dedicated utmost to their craft. The very definition of how music can transcend petty human obstacles to enjoying life to the fullest
They allow us to step back in time, when that first love is beginning to bloom and all you want to do is dream about that guy or gal, nothing better. I agree Not enough love songs today
I had the good luck of hearing The Mills Brothers live in Tivoli, Copenhagen, at the end of the 1960'es. They were great then, they will be great forever.
