IMO Ken Hensley & Gerry Bron destroyed Uriah Heep for personal reasons, H for envy the charisma of Byron and G for business (he wanted to keep the money making machine working). Why Gerry abandoned his favorite band I would never understand.
They should have helped David with his drinking problem but unfortunately it wasn´t ment to be. Besides, not surprisingly, they kicked out the charismatic & sympathetic Gary Thain a year earlier. Show must go on... rock´n´roll is hard business.
RIP Gary & David, you were the Best. We will never forget.
At around two minutes, the roadie runs out and adjusts the mike in front of the amps. After that point, the audio sounds clearer. The mike must have been moved/kicked earlier which could account for the uneven mix at the start.
first off: i love John Wetton. and i have no problem with the man being down on his knees... but not here
the man has a stellar resume. this... is... just not adding to it. but i believe he got a house out of this (his tenure with the Heep). so, i guess... sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...
great gusto, manic drums, but why is Byron's mic not working, he's a good singer, unfortunately sounds aweful here. I don't think this was one of his better performances far as vocals concerned. much better in 1973 concert.
