When I was very very young, our family got our first record player and with it, our very first record: Burl Ives Sings Little White Duck and other children's songs. Of course we played that record over and over and over again. This is the first song on Side 1 of that record. The record was a gift from my paternal grandfather who personnaly knew Burl Ives ... it was a very good Christmas!

I used to sing this song, heck I sang this song last week. I love this song, I learned this a million years ago. But I couldn't remember all the words. Thanks for putting it here.

This was originally recorded in 1950. It was one of my favorites when I was a kid growing up in the sixties.

I haven't heard this since i was a kid back in the 1950's! My parents used to have the single record of this song... flip side was 'Fooba Wooba John'... I remember the off-color yellow label and the red printing ( even the red image of the little duck) on it. Man! Does this song take me back through the years!!!!

My father would play the guitar and we would sing for hours, this song was always sung. Now, I am teaching it to my baby girl.

we had a 16rpm version of this, circa 1964?, that came with a multisided, carousel topped mirror gizmo, maybe 6-8sided, and when the record played you got to watch the record label do make a little novelty video in the mirrors. ahh..history...

My parents had this on a 78 when I was a child. One of the first Burl Ives songs I heard. Thanks for the video response.
