I'm 86 born and raised in Chicago. My husband was a jazz drummer in the 40's and 50's so Chet Baker, Miles Davis, Bunny Barrigan (Can't Get Started), Dizzy Gillespi and Stan Getz romanced me right out of my mind and even at my age, it still works! Glad to see it's still appreciated.

Chet was never the best singer or trumpeter when it came to pure technique, but everytime he sings or plays, he bares his soul completely. What a wonderful privilege...

This song is one of my favorite old standards. Chet's version compares well with the versions by Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Joni James, and Linda Ronstadt which I think are wonderful.

One of my favorite songs by one of my favorite singers. Chet doesn't get the credit he deserves as a singer. Sure, he was a great  trumpeter, but he was also a great singer. His phrasing is superb.  I've song this in Open Mike, and will be doing so again with a trio in January. I'll try to get it taped and I will post it to my channel here. search for rwhaller42 if you are interested. I am no Chet Baker, that's for sure, but some people like my voice.
