If it wasn’t for Shazam, I would never have known who sang this wonderfully lyrical song. Now I know and I love Chet Baker’s music.

my sister lived downstairs from Chet Baker in San Francisco when he was just starting out playing in the S.F. Clubs..-  Bea had a huge crush on him,and they dated for awhile..  I love this rendition of "look for the silver lining' by Chet ~ very sweet and the words are even more important for us to remember today..     judith

Yeah, man! Russ Freeman is my late father, really and truly. I used to love watching him practice on his baby grand piano in the den. How could he make his fingers do that incredible playing? I might be a bit prejudiced, but I think my Dad had the most distinctive touch on the piano of all the West Coast Bebop keyboard players. Plus, he was an outstanding composer, which he started up again in the later years of his life. Thank you SO much for posting this video, kbddd!

I too, first heard this on TCM, then when I went and saw "L.A. Confidential" I heard it on the soundtrack and immediately bought it.

TCM used this in one of their bumpers.

I love this song, always makes me feel good and nostalgic in a good way; it used to be the theme song when AMC TV was all great movies.

I love the rendition of this upbeat song by Chet Baker.  I remember first hearing this in the middle 1950's, and going out and purchasing a 78 rpm record of it, which I still own.

TCM-Me too. I didn't know who he was so I emailed TCM and asked who was that "cool" singer. His style reminded me a bit of Bobby Troupe. They emailed me back and told me it was Chet Baker and now there is a goldmine of his music on Yputube and it is so great.

I can't express what I feel when Chet Baker sings. His inimitable voice is instantly recognizable and yet every time I can't prevent myself from getting the goosebumps... Look for the silver lining and you will find the sunny side of life... Beautiful... Thanks for the upload.

Absolutely PERFECT. What a shame he didn't live much longer. I first heard this version in L.A. Confidential. Then I bought a couple of his compilations and was stunned by his talent.
