to a god of ocean tides
Following a ghost, to love you just the way you hoped i might Ocean, gas stations of the cross
We are crossing at the mississippi line, all the way up to the sky
west tennessee time
Then we pray to our reflections in the water when it rises, i know i said i never loved you, along with your memories of me we were born in the water
Colored lights and birthday cakes, truck stops and river gods
Lift the lid on the daylight, you can see through water
I pray the water can wash away, at the same place where the girl sells her nights, along with your memories of me we were born in the water
Then we pray to our reflections in the water when it rises, gods of rain Of, along with your memories of me we were born in the water
I know i said i never loved you, candle wax on paper plates God, and i buy all my days
we are crossing at the mississippi line
The memories and the cost, jesus spins the world around
following a ghost
I pray the water can wash away, gas stations of the cross
and i buy all my days
I know i said i never loved you, along with your memories of me we were born in the water
Following a ghost, gas stations of the cross, along with your memories of me we were born in the water
we are digging holes to china
Cover up the sun again, in a congregation of strangers, i tried if i said i could
gods of water
and i ll spend all my tomorrows coming down
Following a ghost, to a god of ocean tides
Beautiful and poetic as always. I am so excited for this new album. I spent so much time forcing my ex-boyfriend to listen to you and listen to your lyrics. You became "our" band. And after we broke up two months ago, it became so hard to listen to you. But this album I haven't listened to with him yet and your music is helping me get over the past. You're all mine again.
man,,,you really really forget how good the Counting Crows really are
what a deadly wicked voice and an amazing song
hope the bring out a new album or more singles
I first heard this when I went to see them in Nashville. Fell in love with it instantly. After all these years they still have it. Proud to call Counting Crows my favorite band.
I take solace in the fact that once history shines a light on all the great alternative bands to march out of the 1990's that The Counting Crows will be standing shoulder to shoulder with Pearl Jam as having never exploded, imploded or compromised their unique, yet ever expanding musical sound. What a truly wonderful band!
I try to write and record songs and then I listen to and watch this band and the world seems harsh. If I live to be 1000 I could not make this sort of magic.
