we got to grow up you know i like to die for a while
I don t want to see your bloodshot eyes no more, i like to let the arms of a bar wrap around me tight
We gotta grow up yeah, i know it s stupid and immature
we gotta grow up na
Do you ever know, i like to let the arms of a bar wrap around me tight
Do you ever know, neither does anything else we do got to get ready for the real world
I just want to take this girl, we got to grow up you know i like to die for a while Twistinside, man we got to grow up yeah
Do you ever know, we gotta grow up yeah
I can t take it i can t take it, everyday in the afternoon, big drink above my head
I know the secret of your soul, i know the secret of your soul
I just want to give shape to the face, because we were afraid what the dark might bring
Man we got to grow up yeah, we have been sleeping with the lights on just about every night
or live in the same dark room
I know it s stupid and immature, i can t take it i can t take it
i m just gonna sprawl in the front booth
or live in the same dark room
All curls and big brown eyes, i don t want to see your bloodshot eyes no more, like a life that is visible and real
I like to let the arms of a bar wrap around me tight, man i can t shake the pain of wanting her
Man i can t shake the pain of wanting her, i just want to take this girl The, i just want to take this girl
Na do you ever know, we gotta grow up na, because we were afraid what the dark might bring
That twists inside both you and me breathing fire doesn t look good on a resume, do you ever know, we have been sleeping with the lights on just about every night
Along with Green Day's Insomniac and the Offspring's Smash this is one of the best albums ever. Sometimes I really wish I had been born in this age of music, for it's my favorite. Instead I sit as a sad 2004 kid.
Bought this CD when I was 19. Now listening to the album 16 years later (can't believe it's been that long), I appreciate the album even more. Those were great days.....
Quite simply the greatest song by the greatest band to ever come out of Portland (sorry... er... Quarterflash!). Always saw these guys as Nirvana's heir-apparent (though Puddle of Mudd actually sounded more like them, albeit with less talent than either band). Love how this puppy gradually builds in intensity 'til about the 2:00 mark only to stay at the same high plateau until the end (echoing SB's comment below). Memorable night seeing these guys rock The Moore in Seatown! Thanks for posting!
It seems only yesterday the four of us teenagers. Hanging out smoking, drinking rolling around the floor laughing and listening to this album, not a care in the world. Well i guess its been over 20 years now.Just heard the news today that you left us. Damn been almost 10 years since we lost Em and now you. I would have never guessed in a million years that by 40 that you girls would be gone. You will always be missed and see you when its my time.
