RIP Gary Moore a great loss and a guy who could not only play the guitar like magic but had a fantastic voice. Shame how he died.

"After the war" (the album) was the very first CD I ever bought - I remember it lying unopened on my bookshelf for weeks, until I finally had enough money to afford a CD player. It's mundane today, but back then the idea that the songs were contained in digital encoding on a small silver disk was electrifying, like a promise of a future full of technological wonders. The world is full of promises like that when you're fifteen. Writing this, it feels like I'm reporting from a distant future back to the year 1989. There's no doubt that fifteen year old me would be absolutely amazed at the advances. The song itself has held up really well. One thing that strikes me is how the public opinion of war and the military has shifted. The anti-war message back then seemed really mainstream and unremarkable to me. I feel today it would be met with derision. And instead of promises of technological progress, the songs holds fears of future global conflict for me. Rest in peace, Gary Moore.

I also like the Music from Gary Moore! After the War is a Really Great Song. By the way i have the Greatest Hits Album Out in the Fields. Still got the Blues is also a Super Song. And I like Out in the Fields from 1985. Greetings from Germany! Best Music of the 80's.

Gary Moore, the best, eternal and inspirational guitarist with a repetitive DIAMOND voice, and a heart of utter devotion to the guitar. Now it's definitely playing in the sky.

I may have been born in 1991 and in the USA, but I am glad that my dad was a musician and has great taste in music because I was able to discover many great artists including Gary Moore and in fact, Gary is part of the reason why I love the Gibson Les Paul. When I saw the guitar on the Still Got the Blues album I dreamt of owning one someday and eventually I was able to get one of my own 2 months ago. R.I.P Gary. To all those watching, know this. People come and go in this world, but legends never die and Gary is a legend.

Stuff like this should be put on TV mandatory every afternoon just as kids come home from school and they should be allowed to watch a consummate artists like Cozy, Gary, etc, etc, and learn what musical quality and genius is. Then and only then should they be able to watch something like Nikki Bieber to see how much they are being conned with crap. Gary Moore, R.I.P. (THOSE WHO GREW UP WITH YOUR MUSIC GREW UP WISE).
