and i wanna paint it black
i see a line of cars
I see a red door, my love will laugh with me It, black as coal
No more will my green sea, i look inside myself, i wanna see it painted
i see the girls walk by
i wanna see it painted
it just happens every day
i see a red door
when your whole world is black
Black as night, i see a line of cars It, i see my red door
black as night
maybe then i ll fade away
With flowers and my love, this thing happening to you Paint, dressed in their summer clothes
both never to come back
no more will my green sea
Painted black, i wanna see it painted Black, black as night
Both never to come back, this thing happening to you
painted black
painted black
And they re all painted black, until my darkness goes
See my heart is back, into the setting sun, i could not foresee
Painted black, i look inside myself, my love will laugh with me
my love will laugh with me
If i look hard enough, into the setting sun
I wanna see it painted, i wanna see it painted, go turn a deeper blue
Black as night, black as night
i see them turn their heads
Black as night, i wanna see it painted
I wanna see it painted, black as night
Into the setting sun, and they re all painted black
While I enjoy The Rolling Stones' rendition of this song I've usually liked this one better. I've also noticed that having a female singer can change some of the song's impact and meanings making the difference between the two rather interesting.
I see a red door, and I want it painted black,
No colors anymore, I want them to turn black,
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes,
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes.
I see a line of cars, and they're all painted black,
With flowers and my love, both never to turn back,
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away,
Like a newborn baby it just happens every day.
I look inside myself and see my heart is black,
I see my red door and must have it painted black,
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts,
It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black.
No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue,
I could not foresee this thing happening to you.
I want it black, as black as night,
As black as coal, as black as death,
I wanna see the sun blotted out in the sky.
I want it painted painted painted, painted black, yeah.
I want it black, black as coal,
As black as ice, as black as death,
I wanna see the sun, blotted out in the sky...
I want it painted...
Damn I miss the classic pagan and goth bands. Theatre of Tragedy, London after Midnight, Sisters of Mercy, Mission UK, these guys. Soo many more. I grew up listening to all of them. Some music these days could definitely learn something from them.
