He told his manager if he were to die he would want die flying his plane, and he did. His first wife Annie never wanted to come on the road with him because she was a recluse and didn’t like all the energy of concerts and people. All he ever wanted was for her to come with him. She divorced him after he had a road affair because he couldn’t fathom the loneliness. He always loved her though even up until his death. He would send her thousands of roses every year on her birthday to her apartment in Aspen. Even with his second wife and little girl, he never didn’t make time for her. He was a beautiful person and I hope he is flying high looking down and feeling through all the nature he loved so much.
