Johnnie was a magnificent singer. The pride of all Oregon. He recorded many wonderful songs, the best of which would be in the 1950's. My own personal favourite has to be : ''Texas Tambourine.'' Johnnie Ray was one of the greatest song stylists ever. This is one of my all time favourite performances ever. This song should have been a massive hit. A true legend of popular music.
Saw him in Adelaide in the late 1960's as far as I can recall.By that time his style had faded,but in his day,he was a sensation.Hearing his voice again brings back those days carefree days again.Still enjoy the songs he sang.
