All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray.
I’ve been for a walk on a winter’s day.
I’d be safe and warm if I was in L.A.;
California dreamin' on such a winter’s day.
Stopped in to a church I passed along the way.
Well I got down on my knees and I pretend to pray.
You know the preacher likes the cold;
He knows I’m gonna stay.
California dreamin' on such a winter’s day.
All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray.
I’ve been for a walk on a winter’s day.
If I didn’t tell her I could leave today;
California dreamin' on such a winter’s day.
California dreamin' on such a winter’s day.
California dreamin' on such a winter’s day…
All the leaves are brown (all the leaves are brown)

I think I prefer the Mamas and Papas version of California Dreamin'. It has a little more activity, more movement to it. Makes you want to get up and dance. Nancy's rendition is a little too calming. BUT, that's just my thoughts.
Nancy Baby, taken me all these years to learn you covered great songs like this and Hotel California! I've always loved this song and heard it on a winters day in England circa 1980 on my car radio and on impulse bought an airline ticket and flew to LA, where I remained for 6 months.
I love this version, just a different mood from Mama Cass but equally as good from two exceptionally talented singers!
