How good is that....music is such a time machine. One of the best albums ever made in my opinion, I had it when I was young and played the crap out of it, Frampton Comes Alive, Bat Out Of Hell, Leftoverture, too many albums to mention, music was so good in the seventies.

Beggars Day is an aggressive rock assault. Beers are are dropped and bongs fumbled as this music rolls over parties like a freight train, with the squall and fervor of locomotive wrath. It pounds out like a relentless beating from a psychotic father. The singer screams darkly. I have crossed myself in anger, he yells. With phasing and tape effects, the fluid jam of Rose in the Heather rises and falls like a gentle surf. I held up my eight month old son while this piece played and walked him around the living room in circles. His delight was palpable.

This reminds me when i first heard this was 1975 my friends brother had this album we unlocked his door just to hear this song he came home early and we were only 10 yrs old so had to hide under the bed so we did not get beat up for being in his room..

NFW! I can't believe how long it's been since I've heard this. Every hair on my neck and arms is standing on end. I'm totally in to Thrash Metal and have begun to look back to Dan McCafferty as an inspiration (perhaps unconcious?) to many of us who sing (Expect No Mercy, No Mean City, Hair of the Dog), but somehow I'd forgotten all about this one. . . Thanks for the post. Whoa!
