I saw it written and I saw it say
Pink moon is on its way
And none of you stand so tall
Pink moon gonna get you all
It's a pink moon
Hey, it's a pink moon
It's a pink, pink, pink, pink, pink moon.
It's a pink, pink, pink, pink, pink moon.
I saw it written and I saw it say
Pink moon is on its way
And none of you stand so tall
Pink moon gonna get you all
It's a pink moon
Yeah, it's a pink moon
Eerie how ahead of it's time this was....so many indie bands are doing this minimal sound these days, but with 1/4 the effectiveness Nick had and more echo and hipsterness....can't touch this guy
Perfect of the April 7, 2020 Pink Moon coming tonight as a blessing during the COVID 19 Social Distancing Globally.... we still have music and the moon. Be safe everyone and sing on.
Some guy on a train randomly struck up a conversation with me and told me to listen to this. I thought it was kind of strange, but for some reason, it all makes sense to me now. Thanks, random person on the train with a cane.
I remember the night I first heard this song, a musician myself in my twenties, cutting my teeth in the Austin, Texas music scene. The clubs had all closed down, and the night owls went to a 24 hour cafe called Magnolia Cafe near a lake. I got a seat by the window; ordered pancakes and was staring up at a full moon with pink clouds blowing across it, the kind you see in Austin because of the reflection of the city lights on the atmosphere. Pink Moon came on the sound system. I will never forget.
When I was still in the womb my mom used to play this song and she said she swears I danced, and when I was born it would stop me from crying, now when I listen to this it helps me sleep. This song has an emotional connection to me if u would put it that way I guess
Nick Drake was an original guitarist/songwriter who burned out way too early in his life. His confused and troubled mind reflected a depression that he could no longer live with. He left us some beautiful, dark ballads along his brief life's path that to this day are often copied but totally unmatched in their originality.
I wish Nick could somehow know that he's nowadays reaching out to so many great people, who love him and his music - and I wish also that it happened before he died. That would have brought him happiness and comfort.
Greetings from China! I was a high school student when i listened to Nick's songs, and still remember that i was pretty depressed when i read the death of he on a music magazine. He is genius.
I recently played this for a friend that had never heard of Nick. She had no idea what his story was. I asked her to listen, give me feedback, then I would tell her about him. How astute she was in her response! "Why", she asked, "do I feel a hidden threat in this song/poem?" THAT is the power of a good poet! Of course there is threat here: below the radar, beneath the words. He's only days from taking his own life. That must be resonating beneath his consciousness. And it communicated, in this beautiful poem/song, to a woman who would hear him for the first time, come to know who he was, more than 40 years after he left. That is amazing to me. That is the mark of a real poet.
