I am greatful now. I hope I can find my place in this world slowly. For whoever is reading this, I hope you find your home here too. I hope the world is kind to you stranger.
me finding Creep for the first time: sad
me finding No Surprises for the first time: big sad
me finding Motion Picture Soundtrack for the first time: extremely big sad
me finding Daydreaming for the first time: Radiohead depression
I don’t think these are random places I think they are places him and his wife had been together before her passing
I also don’t think the video was meant to be played normally. The video was meant to be played backwards. If you play it backwards it starts with thom saying “half of my life, half of my love. 23 years” and throughout the video it’s is him closing the doors he once opened when the video was played normally. Therefore closing the doors of the past and letting go of his wife who he had spent almost half his life with. I personally think this is one of the best videos ever created.
[Verse 1]
Dreamers
They never learn
They never learn
Beyond the point
Of no return
Of no return
Then it's too late
The damage is done
The damage is done
[Verse 2]
This goes
Beyond me
Beyond you
A white room
By a window
Where the sun comes
Through
We are
Just happy to serve
Just happy to serve
You
[Outro]

This song uses three notes as its bed. The notes are D-E-A. On repeat it spells D-E-A-D. You hear it throughout most of the song.
This song is about Thom’s breakup with his woman. Btw.
Each door he passes through symbolizes a year of their lives together. Ive forgotten the number of doors.
Anyways in the end he crawls into the cold cave where the fire is. I can only picture that as being the state of their relationship. A cold wet cave with warmth in its heart.
Thom repeats the words “i love you fire”.
When played in reverse he actually says “half of my life”. The number of doors symbolized his years with her which summed up to half of his life in their relationship.
This is by far the deepest song i have ever encountered. Mind blown. Its fucking deep.
Thom York you are a treasure upon this lowly ball of mud that we live upon.
