My mother loved this song back in the 60's. It was the" music of our lives." I love the song to this day. Call me a simple square , but, I who graduated from Harpur's back in '74 would listen to this song a thousand times before Stairway to Heaven. Harry Katz.
Remember listening to him when I was a child. My mother listened to him. Understand the music more now that I'm older. Music that speaks to the heart and makes you think. Great music!
Everybody talks about a new world in the morning
New world in the morning so they say
Now, I, myself don't talk about a new world in the morning
New world in the morning, that's today
And I can feel a new tomorrow comin' on
And I don't know why I have to make a song
Now everybody talks about a new world in the morning
New world in the morning takes so long
I met a man who had a dream he'd had since he was twenty
I met that man when he was eighty-one He said too many
folks just stand and wait until the mornin',
Don't they know tomorrow never comes
And he would feel a new tomorrow coming on
And when he'd smile his eyes would twinkle up in thought
Now, everybody talks about a new world in the morning
New world in the morning takes so long
And I can feel a new tomorrow coming on
And I don't know why I have to make a song
Now, everybody talks about a new world in the morning
New world in the morning takes so long
La-da-da-dee-da-da
La-da-da-dee-da-da
I was a kid when I first heard this song! I always liked Roger whittaker since. I loved all music as a kid and it didn't bother me what the other kids thought.
