Another late reply,this one to Colette Bembenek.Thanks for the passionate defence of my initial comments.You understood that I was not attacking Warren but actually implying that I think he should have achieved a greater level of success and recognition, based on his talents and the quality of his work.
I guess I caught Glaeken 1961 on a bad day.Although in his/her defence I sometimes find myself tempted to give an impulsive surly reply to people who I perceive may be criticizing a group or individual whom I am an admirer of.
In my case that would be the group Big Country.When they get written off as being one hit wonders,especially in North America,it just annoys me completely.This is a band that I place in stature and circumstance with Warren.They both should have achieved greater levels of success and recognition.So many amazingly great songs from both of them.
R.I.P. Warren Zevon and Stuart Adamson.

Very late reply to Glaeken 1961.I was in Toronto,Canada when Warren had his top 30 hit with Werewolves of London in 1978.And while I really liked that song, and honestly I could be wrong about this but I don't ever recall hearing anything more from the "Excitable Boy" album at all.And unfortunately for me I never encountered anyone who was into Warren who might have led me to him earlier.
For me it really was You Tube, and all of the great people who shared their love of Warren's music that allowed me to finally discover him for myself.And I have also read comments from others expressing the same gratitude.
And since discovering Warren I have done what I wish I had done from the start.I have purchased his entire discography.And those road trips you mentioned.I can say I have done that now.I listen to him every day.He was just an amazing talent and I really wish he was still with us today.
