Throw down the sword
The fight is done and over
Neither lost, neither won
To cast away the fury of the battle
And turn my weary eyes for home
There were times when I stood at death’s own door
Only hoping for an answer
Throw down the sword
And leave the glory
A story time can never change
To walk the road, the load I have to carry
A journey’s end, a wounded soul
There were times when I stood at death’s own door
Only searching for an answer
Many famous bands has steal ideas from WA: Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Lynyrd Skynyrd, even Pink Floyd. Expecially from Argus masterpiece. Example, this end solo is very similar to end High hopes solo
Absolutely brilliant. Throw Down the Sword, brings a tear to my eye, amazing. Still have my original Argus album - a masterpiece up there with the best!
I have never ever heard of a two-guitar solo where one plays down, the other up and then they meet each other .... man alive not only is this musical genius it was then way ahead of its time and still holds it today! ... Brilliant ... absolutely bloody BRILLIANT!
Even though they weren't a heavy metal band, it's easy to see why so many metal bands were inspired by Wishbone Ash. They did the dual lead guitar attack before anyone. Before Thin Lizzy. Before Judas Priest. Before Iron Maiden.

I've never even heard of Wishbone Ash until today. Their music is gorgeous!
Prog rock bands are pretty hit-or-miss, either they're amazing or they're terrible. I love moments like these when all that searching pays off! :)
I've always said that Argus is one of the top 5 rock albums ever recorded, and nothing I've heard since has made me change my mind. It is total perfection from every instrument on every track.
