I’m leaving to search for something new
Leaving everything I ever knew
A hundred years in the sunshine
Hasn’t taught me all there is to know
The valley, we will gather there
Helpless in our surrender
Tomorrow the plow becomes the sword
Make us stronger in our danger
Time will pass away
Time will guard our secret
I’ll return again
To fight another day
I’d have to be a warrior
A slave I couldn’t be
A soldier and a conqueror
Fighting to be free
(Repeat three times)
"Warrior" by Wishbone Ash is one of the greatest songs in all of Rock / Roll History. Definitely somewhere in my top ten. One of the most creative ,unique bands in all of RR History as well. If you like heavy guitar driven blues based rock n roll do NOT miss these guys when they come to your town: They are still touring....... They are still Awesome Great !
Dio used this bass in from warrior in holy diver. Wishbone Ash has had a lot "borrowed" from them. My favorite band of all time most definitely. Their first album came out in 70 on the day I was born.
I'm leaving to search for something new,
Leaving everything I ever knew.
A hundred years in the sunshine
Hasn't taught me all there is to know.
In the valley, we will gather there,
Helpless in our surrender.
Tomorrow the plow becomes the sword
Make us stronger in our danger.
Time will pass away,
Time will guard our secret.
I'll return again
To fight another day.
[Repeat x3]
I'd have to be a warrior
A slave I couldn't be
A soldier and a conqueror,
Fighting to be free

Oh man, I've searched for this song everywhere. I remember I had it on a casette tape, when I was like 11. My dad sold most of his old discs so I was hopeless to find it,since I had no idea of what band this song was from. And look! I'm listening to it after 21 years of hiatus.. feels good!
I saw them Toronto with Gentle Giant opening for them...both bands were in their young first line-up prime...my memories are of an awesome show during an era when it took a bit to make an impression on us...we had all the bands to talk about b.i.t.d. didn't we just? hell, we're still talking about them now...
