You don't need drugs for this; it is an acid trip in its own right.

Throughout human history, there has been the discovery of fire, the moon landing, and of course: 3:04 to 3:48 on Siberian Khatru... Humans are awesome

Musically this is as good as rock music gets. Jon Anderson's vocals are great.

I always remembered this song as just being good, but nothing to write home about God I was an idiot back then

The whole band is kicking ass in this song but I think that Bruford and Squire reach another universe in the final 2 minutes

This has to be one of the most instrumentally complex tracks in all of music. 3:03 - 4:13 is, to me, the height of what rock can achieve. It's just a wonderful artistic experimentation, and one of the most progressive rock tracks ever.

Crimson, Floyd, and Rush are three great bands, but none can compare to the brilliance of Yes. Yes took classical principles and implemented them into their music. Listen to Close to the Edge and Heart of the Sunrise and the entirety of Topographic Oceans. The songs are divided into movements with the parts overlapping one another as well as the perfection of timing. Yes was eons ahead of their time in their songwriting with Wakemen's versatility and experience with the keys, Bruford's jazz style and diversity in dynamics, Howe's amazing classical/technical skills on the guitar (incredibly underrated guitarist; better than practically any guitarist you could think of), and of course Squire's amazing ability to improvise on the base.

I was a geeky Yes fan back in the late 70's when my valley girl friends had no idea who Yes was (maybe Roundabout). Thank God for my musician uncles (Chicago when I'd visit) who showed what good music was. I can almost play this on guitar...lbvs.

Hell, I'm listening to this for the first time and an ad came up in another window and I thought it was part of the song. Hey, they're a prog band, how was I supposed to know?
