When you’re driving down the highway at night
And you’re feelin' that wild turkey’s bite
Don’t give Johnny Walker a ride
Cause Jack Black is right by your side
You might get taken to the jailhouse and find
You’ve been arrested for driving while blind
Now just the other night with nothin' to do We broke a case of proof 102
And started itchin' for that wonderful feel
Of rollin' in an automobile
You could say we was out of our mind
And let me tell you we were flyin' while blind
Then they had us up against the wall
Hey it’s only blood grain alcohol
And there ain’t no cause for alarm
We ain’t out to do nobody no harm
How could anyone be so unkind
To arrest a man for drivin' while blind
When you're driving down the highway at night
And you're feelin' that wild turkey's bite
Don't give Johnny Walker a ride
'Cause Jack Black is right by your side
You might get taken to the jailhouse and find
You've been arrested for driving while blind
Now just the other night with nothin' to do
We broke a case of proof 102
And started itchin' for that wonderful feel
Of rollin' in an automobile

like the ramones from southern rock - catchy like hell , simple, funny, not self indulgent and killer....and hell yeah killer guitar work on top of course....
"Now jus' the utha night with nuthin' ta do, we broke a case of proof 102, n started itchin' fo that wunnerful fee-al of rollin' in a automobile. You could say we wuzza outa our minds, an' let me tell ya we wuz flyin' while blind". Drinking wine & playing it full blast! Yessireee..... "Tejas" in my 8 track in 76-77 non stop. Had the album at home. A great year for the Band. (+ me, my friends & our girlfriends) ;-) Saw 'em at Memphis, Tn. on July 4th, Bicentennial year (outside in Liberty Bowl, with approx. 45,000 + in attendance) with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blue Oyster Cult & The Outlaws. "World Wide Texas Tour" was "Takin' Texas To The People" with rattlesnakes, buffaloes, buzzards, longhorns, real cactus, yucca plants, wagon wheels & a HUGE Texas shaped stage....it was a f-n blast!! Ha-Ha!! Ahhhh, I'm just rambling & reminiscing now. Good times, 4 sure. Thanks........:))
Billy is a guitar master. I used to deliver groceries to Dusty's aunt! As for the pink bell bottoms? Got to admit, I had a pair of them back in the day along with pairs of orange, lime green and yellow ones too! I think its the same as tattoos today, since everybody was wearing them back then nobody thought anything about it.
first off, this an old pic on my mom, i'm a 58 y/o man...i'm posting this to say back in 1977, i took this album to north dakota, i moived up there for a new experience , not only did most the people i met not hear of zz top, but they were'ne familiar with this album..all i can say is...i made a sbhit load of new zz top friend before i left the state
I love this recording of this song. Years ago I heard it a lot as a kid on cassette and on ZZ Top's local rock radio. I bought a digital copy of it because I hadn't heard it in years and got really, really pissed at how they destroyed a great song. Honestly, I stopped paying attention to them post "Eliminator" because someone convinced them that everything they did had to sound like that album.
