This is my favorite song from my favorite Billy Joel album. I always knew Piano Man, but it wasn't until a few years ago that I really got into his music. I used to listen to pop, but Billy Joel introduced me to so many different artists that are so much better!

"So here I am standing waiting in the lobby, sweatin' bullets in this stupid old suit" Perfect for this period (about 1979-81) when Billy was going through his wild, "bad boy" period, before Christie Brinkley got a hold of him.

This was the first Billy Joel album that I had to just run out and get. Thanks largely to You may be Right. Ever since then I've been hooked.

Super duper highly underrated song. I love Billy Joel, and this whole album is fantastic.

Really, the best song on the album in my humble opinion. Typically, artists tend to like non top 40 tunes on the radio. I bet if someone asked Billy Joel about this one, he'd say it was one of his favorites on this album.

I want to tell the world about these songs, but I’m selfish, so I’m just gonna keep the best album in the world to myself.

I discovered Billy in the 80's when I was a teen, and soon had every one of his albums. It sounds clichè, but nearly every one of his songs spoke to sad, lonely, teen aged me. It was comforting to know I wasn't the only one going through all that lonely heartache. I thought, "He must be following me around taking notes.", because I'd suffer some great heartache, and before long, he'd release a song about that exact thing lol. Even now, all these years later, his music still speaks to me. I still no all the words to all of his songs, and sing along whenever I hear them.

Absolutely agree! I love the syncopation. I still think overall this is his best album! Definitely one of my "if I was marooned on a desert isle" albums.

Great song, It is funny, when this is album that spawn several hit hits, but some of my favorite songs on this album, were even hits, nor released as singles.

The entire album was great; his best effort at playing rock.
