Bearing in mind that most guys in bands in the 1970's had to rough it in a Transit van to/ from gigs, these guys got flown into The IOW Festival by helicopter! Air travel then was a luxury, to have done that as a musician back then was certainly not going to be tax deductible!

The fact that Paul Rodgers isn't in the R&R Hall of Fame on his own merit for everything from Free to Bad Company to The Firm to his own solo touring and albums goes beyond absurdity! Free and Bad Co should also be in the Hall too of course but PAUL RODGERS is the definition of ROCK and ROLL VOCALS! He is the king and how the Hall can overlook him all these years shows how much of a joke the Hall really is. Madonna is in?? C'mon!

This song just oozes sadness, passion, and longing. Magnificently sung by my favorite Rock singer of all time, Mr. Paul Rodgers. This song anchors what I call "The Misery Suite" which is also includes "Heavy Load" and "Oh I Wept". Deeply personal and oh so meaningful. I've loved this album (my 2nd. favorite ever) since High School. Fantastic Stuff!!!

When "Alright Now" hit the airwaves in 1970 it was just such a great blast to come out of my car radio in the summer, with the windows down, cruising to the beach. But when I was home in the basement, with the stereo system turned up and guitar in hand, it was this song that really got me.

I have adored this band and this song for over 30 years. I have lived this song too which makes it so bitter/sweet to hear. Paul you have the best blues voice, next to Peter Green, the Kings of White boy blues. I miss that time so much. These songs can make me weep with the memories. One of my all time favourites bands, still loved. Peace.
