That ending from 3:30 always gets me. The rest of the song is good but its that final melancholy melody that gives a epic resolution to the song. To me it sounds and feels like a character is forever trapped in a memory that means so much to him, and he feels comfort but also is questioning what force did bring him in that sweet imprisonment. Or maybe I'm just too imaginative/ crazy :P
I think it doesn't need speed skills or roaring sounded guitars..or..or...acrobatic guitar playing...because at the end I only need harmonious tunes just like this song.
I am stuck in an office cubicle and it is the middle of a wintery March, but when I hear this song it brings forth emotions and images in my mind where I am watching a beautiful waterfall in the cool shade of a tree, and the sky is a deep blue with a scattering of clouds.
Still can't decide which song I like most from Shockwave...there's just so much quality on this album. Lost in a Memory is right up there though. One of Joe's least complex but one if his best ever.
