This great storyteller and musician died 28 years ago this day. I hope to see him in "that range up in the sky" (Utah Carol by Marty Robbins) one day. Thanks for the upload.
R.I.P. Marty Robbins
12/8/10
The Late great King of Cowboy Ballads, Marty Robbins, once again uses his fantastic vocal range to touch your
heart and soul; the Master does it again!
Ahh yeah thanks so very much for putting this song up. Marty Robbins is my favorite classic country musician and Prairie Fire is my favorite Marty Robbins song. This is just such an amazing song and it really gives you a sense of what a prairie fire is like. Marty was from my home state & current state of residence, Arizona and he was from Mesa back in the 20's when all the cities that make up the megalopolis we call Phoenix today like Mesa, Scottsdale, Gilbert, Glendale, Goodyear, Peoria, & Phoenix were still separate individual farming communities that were still many miles apart. I'm proud that he was born & raised here and that is undoubtedly why he knew so much about cowboy life and life in the West. He has such a beautiful baritone tenor voice and made such awesomely amazing music! I love Marty Robbins music!
I'm an idahoan, born and raised, and I've seen wildfires and what they can do, sometimes the smoke gets so thick you can't breathe without coughing, despite the fact that the fire is 50 miles away.
I really love the western & cowboy paintings that were used for the artwork displayed during the song and I really wish I could find some of those paintings.
