Merle has close to the same quality of voice that Marty Robbins has. The two of them are just wonderful. I wish they could have recorded many songs together. Sure do miss the good music like they made, but I'm afraid we'll never see this quality again. There is no sign of anything resembling it anywhere in today's music world. Very sad. Love this song and wish my hubby was here and I would give a thousand tomorrow's for just one more day with him. Merle was my husband's fav. singer. He will be sadly missed.

Merle's voice is perfectly suited for this Jenny Lou Carson song. The lyric is similar to Merle's compositions and even though others such as Eddy Arnold have recorded this gem......Merle has put his mark on the song and it's one of his best!
