I have mixed feelings about this song in particular. I had to transcribe this solo on my second year of my jazz and caribbean music performance Bachelor degree (I'm currently on my 4th and final year) and it represented a great challenge, however I had to do it while also going through a very tough period on my life, since my mother was on a Hospital until her unfortunate death. So, though i liked this solo so much, i can't help but getting transported to that harsh period whenever i listen to this.
Thanks for reading my little story...
Love this. So much of his playing can bring me to tears, including this one. There is also a Piano Jazz interview of Bill Evans by Marian McPartland where he describes and demonstrates his approach to this particular tune.
