This is where it all started for me- June 3, 1973 - with a friend of mine imploring "You gotta hear this - close your eyes and listen" and then getting hit with this opening salvo - at this point in time - EVERYTHING changed - the musical world I knew fell away beneath my feet and a new landscape opened and the world was MINE. Blue Oyster Cult had come, and nothing would EVER be the same again. My favorite BOC song of them all!

Buck Dharma, a totally unique player who mixes, be-bop, psychedelic and hard rock into a guitar gumbo that is all his own. Bottom line- a singular great guitar voice who seems to effortlessly riff at break neck tempos. Gets far too little recognition from the mainstream (wasn't even included in Rolling Stone mag top 100 guitarists when he should easily be top 10!- freakin' joke indeed). Saw Buck and BOC two nights ago at Welmont (Momtclair, NJ) and he is still destroying it at 66-67. Wow.

This is for me the purest distillation of early BOC packing just about every riff in the book, fast hard and heavy. What other group could conceive of a song about the Royal Canadian Mounted Police...I don't think I've ever heard this on the radio, but it's one of their very best songs live.
