any songs that sung by brook benton make so fantastic and you just could hear
over and over again.
what a singer and what a fantastic voice.
thank you from leonora
A few years ago I was looking through a handsome coffee-table book at Barnes and Noble titled: THE 100 GREATEST BLACK ENTERTAINERS,
and because Brook Benton had been, excluded, I mumbled a "bad word," and set the book down, refusing to buy it. Dozens of "celebrities" were in the volume of whom I had no knowledge. And I'm not exactly an uneducated man.
God Almighty worked triple overtime putting this icon's glorious voice together! This is one of my favorite songs to sing along to.
The songbirds in the trees give pause to their own rhapsodic golden-throated
calls whenever they are within earshot of a magnificent Brook Benton recording. The epitaph engraved on Mr. Benton's headstone says it all: HE TOUCHED THE WORLD!
NEVER another voice
like this in a trillion
years!
(This masterpiece was composed by Sigmund Romberg, with lyrics supplied by Oscar Hammerstein II, in 1928.)
