somewhere over the rainbow
way up high
there s a land that i heard of
once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
skies are blue
and the dreams that you dare to dream
really do come true
someday i ll wish upon a star
and wake up where the clouds are for
behind me
where troubles melt like lemon drops
away above the chimney tops
that s where you ll find me
somewhere over the rainbow
bluebirds fly
birds fly over the rainbow
why then, oh why can t i?
if happy little bluebirds fly
beyond the rainbow
why, oh why can t i?

Sweet Gene sings "Over The Rainbow" **Judy Garland originally sang this song " After she heard Gene's recording she told him he sang it better than her ** She loved his version * That was high praise coming from such a talented performer as Judy Garland * I truly believe he sings it better than anyone else . The voice of an angel * Released in the USA in January 1959 * flip side was "Who's Pushing Your Swing" They are both great songs and both got a lot of playing time here in the Pacific Northwest * "Sweet Gene" The Epitome of Rock'n'Roll , Ballads and Blues * Simply The Very Best *
