Very few bands' debut albums launch entire genres, But Killing Joke's launched at least three. Just about every development in heavy music for the next 20 years is evident. Thrash, industrial, metalcore, alternative- it's entirely safe to say that there'd be no Metallica, Ministry, Megadeth, Nine Inch Nails or Nirvana without this album... Hell, this SONG. Now that hundreds of bands sound like this, it's innovation might have dimmed, but not it's importance. Music changed right here, forever.

Remember buying the album the week it came out. Still have it, it is a bit Donald Ducked from the scratches and the beer stains and the fact that I left it on a train when I was pissed. Still got it back from the Lost and Found ( Thank you Liverpool Lime St)

Funny how in most KJ videos most comment sections are only arguing about some other band. Truly a testament to their influence.
