It took me over 15 years to find this piece. I heard it one single time in my whole life and the main melody I could never forget
It wracked my brain for so long that I began to think I made it up. By sheer chance i heard it once again, desperately used Shazam and found the song
15 years of waiting to come across it one more time. Every second was worth the wait
I learned how to play this in 2004 when I was 14 and my music teacher said it was from a famous war film.
I remembered only this song on the piano since then, i tried to find out what film it was for so long and I gave up.
But i just saw the film tonight 14 years later haha.
life is funny like that!
Whenever I hear this song, I imagine someone who visits the place he grew up and remembers how beautiful it used to be and how it isn't anymore and everyone he knew and loved is gone. But there is a hint of hope, because he knows that, at least he got to live those beautiful moments and they will always stay dear inside his heart. It fills my eyes with tears of sadness and nostalgia.
this really sounds like you’re sitting down on the steps right outside your house, resting your head on your significant other as it rains. you two are reminiscing about the time you’ve spent with each other, every single mistake and every single joyful occasion comes flooding into your head.
when i was in college, i took understanding of modern dance class. professor asked us to do a dance performance as the final report. i spent the whole semester without prepping, and then one day before the performance day, i came to listen to this music. something occurred inside me then and i decided to improvise dance to this music. so i did, professor gave me A minus as i remember correctly. it was a surreal experience and 20 years later now i can still feel the thrill, tense and humor of my act and this beautiful music. thanks for all who read my little story :-)
to me this sounds like being sat inside with someone you love while it rains outside on a warm spring day watching the rain trickle down the window , no idea why
