I know this place, it was around the corner from where I lived, and years later I even worked there. It was the kind of place a poor East Belfast boy dreamed of...wonderful houses shrouded in leaves and dappled light. How lucky we are with this great man painting such an evocative picture, his youth and adult journey meshed.

I love this whole album. No album soothes and comforts like Astral Weeks does. I have been listening to it since I was 12 and am now 60. I used to listen to it all night long and would let it play over and over and over. I love Van Morrison and all his music. I have many of his albums but none comforts and hits the heart and soul like Astral Weeks.

I'm caught one more time up on Cyprus Avenue....but literally this time - just as imagined - the avenue of trees, but without the wonderful harpsichord in background. Also saw the plaque on Hyndford St - just a terraced house - before that mansion on the hill - but now my heart beats faster... majic!!
