I walked down the street. Two lonely cats asked me for some small change. All I could think about was eggs and coffee from Annie’s Diner. Oh, how I longed for those eggs. I stopped under a lamppost and lit a cigarette, the brim of my hat covering my hands and the matchstick. Damn those eggs.
