This is Herbie Hancock at his finest! The horns are on top form and the whole rhythm section are flawless. Candy to my ears!

My favorite dexter gordon solo of all time. And that's sayin something! The way it builds from chorus to chorus to a perfect climax. How can ypu follow that?

Dexter's solo is probably the most thought out and melodic solo ever. It's perfect!

Five musicians, led by Herbie, make fantastic, organic music out of a little 8 bar, 6 chord form...absolutely epic. Freddie and Dex are in top form. But the fact that the whole totally transcends a minimal 8 bar set of changes is astounding. This is jazz at its best. Five beautiful cats listening, shaping phrases and CREATING some deep shit...the best!
