If Warners had been a bit more supportive, they would have reissued this fabulous single (originally issued in 1977), to follow up the 1978 success of Northern Lights. But as is so often the case, the opportunity was missed, and the band never hit the heights again, or registered in the minds of the public as a band of formidable talent.

Annie Haslam’s multitracked top notes (descant) make this version (not the TV original) so wholesome

My favorite Renaissance album! Annie... Jon, the best. Annie voice was the sound of an angel like a beam of sunlight coming down thru the clouds.. God I love her.

First time I've heard this for a long time. It will bring a tear to my eye every time I hear it now, as it was the theme tune to The Paper Lads, written by my drama tutor, mentor, support and long time family friend, Ian Cullen RIP. Such a huge personal loss and to the theatre, tv, film, youth work and as a borough councillor.
