amazing how that was a cute song a long time ago whereas if now someone sang this, he'd be considered machismo, chauvinistic and racist. it's all perspective and relative to the time period.
Was a farm boy from Eastern Oregon when I heard this song for the first time on a jukebox at the Union County Fair in 1961. Inspired me to get off the ranch and become an airline pilot and travel the world. I lived the dream this song created for me as a 8th grader. Thank you Mr. Nelson. Ran into his twin sons at a concert on Ft Wayne Indiana while on a layover year later. Took them how they father had influenced my life. They smiled.
Try searching "Traveling Man Remastered" its the same song remastered and it sounds allot better, I think Toyota used the remastered for one of their commercials cause it's sounds so clear
I hope this music never goes away. It's so beautiful and nostalgic.. I'm eighteen, and I just love it so much. There IS good music out today, though, you've just got to look harder for it.. The 50s and 60s music though? Untouchable
