Sitting here with tears streaming down my face. Just listened to this for the first time in decades. Not only did I remember every word to sing along with the gorgeous music, but it transported me back to when this album first came out, to when I was young and pretty and (above all) healthy. I became disabled in my twenties. I am now nearly 70 and all the usual passages and accomplishments of most lives, all the things I hoped to have, have been devoured by my illnesses. But I am still here and I have managed to cobble together a life for myself despite everything, even though it's nowhere near the life I hoped I would have. It is a tribute to S&G's genius that I still find as much joy and hope and beauty in their music now as I did half a century ago.

I sang this (badly) to the first girl I ever loved; despite my poor attempt it moved her to tears. It ended in a pretty unpleasant way a year or so later and we haven't spoken for years but whenever I listen to this it brings back all of those wonderful feelings I felt on that night. It's amazing how powerful a song can be.
